VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

Induction course at the VIN office

Friends of VIN partners with the Nepal-based organization Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN). We offer affordable volunteering opportunities for interested organizations; groups, couples and individuals who would like to make a contribution to Nepali society, while at the same time experiencing the rich culture, the natural magnificenceand daily life of Nepal. The degree to which volunteers contribute to Nepali communities varies according to their motivation and personal capability. However, no experience is necessary and FoVIN strongly encourages all applicants.

Volunteering with VIN will give you the opportunity to live and work in Nepali communities and learn more about this beautiful culture. VIN runs volunteer programs for people of all ages and all nationalities, working in areas where volunteers can be of most lasting benefit to Nepal and develop themselves at the same time.

Skills Required

We don't require any specific skills but we expect you to be open-minded, patient, independent, flexible, enthusiastic about getting to know a new culture, and have a good sense of humor - these qualities will help you cope with living in a culture that may be very different from your own.

Volunteer Possibilities (compact version)

These are compact version which describe the various volunteer possibilities that we offer.

We are very flexible and are most often able to tailor the project to match your needs, skills and passion with the right project in Nepal.

Teaching 1-Jan-20 to 14-Jan-20 "My experience at VIN was really enriching, both culturally with the induction provided and the visits of cultural sites in Nepal, and above all humanly, thanks to the encounters we made, the family who hosted us, and the children we got to work with. This is an experience I will never forget, that made me discover Nepal in a way I would have never discovered it without VIN."

ECD & Health Program 18-Apr-13 to 31-May-13 "Leaving to Nepal with VIN is a lifetime experience. VIN makes things easier for volunteers to be perfectly accommodated and prepared to experience living and working in such an amazing country. The induction days are useful for 2 reasons -preparation for working and cultural aspects of both volunteering and placement. Incredible human experience, amazing memories, and the discovery of a country which will stay forever as one of my favorites, Nepal."

Teaching in Buddhist Monastery 01-April-13 to 9-June-13 "If you want to do some volunteering in Nepal, use VIN! They are great. I could really see the changes that the kids made with their language, the feeling you get when one of the kids calls you “Teacher” for the first time is great. They are always willing to learn, smiley and love games that you use in the lessons. if you have any questions for me just email me at tmadkin@gmail.com and will get back to you within a day or so."
